52 Weeks: Pets – Vet care

From the book:

“When a pet needs medical care, ask your vet about alternatives. Ask about 1-800-petmeds. Ask about home remedies. As with dentistry for people, if you live near a veterinary school it can’t hurt to ask if they offer low cost care. Sometimes a vet just outside the main town will charge less than one in a high-rent central neighborhood. The Humane Society keeps a database of organizations that offer help with the costs of pet care at http://www.humanesociety.org/animals/resources/tips/trouble_affording_pet.html.  Each organization is independent and has its own eligibility requirements.”
