Recently, a poster on The Dollar Stretcher said that when she moved she shipped some of her goods by UPS because the cost per pound was less than the mover would have charged. She still had the mover, but since they charge by the pound, she saved by sending part of her stuff by a shipper instead of the moving company. There was the added advantage that it arrived a few days after the move, so she had time to put things away before a new batch of stuff arrived.
That’s a great example of the kind of thing I look for. I never would have thought of that without the stimulation of a money-saving internet site like http://www.stretcher.com. I receive their daily email, and there is nearly always something in it that I can use.
